Meet the Slug Chicks

It's always fun to know more about the people that share your fandom, and I liked some of the questions that I had asked Harmony in my previous "interview". So I decided to ask some of my fellow Slug Chicks about their obsession.

Feel free to post your own answers in the comments section.

I was seriously desperate for some horror reads. I then tried looking under the horror tag in some manga sites and found "Yami No Koe" and then read Shin Yami No Koe next... then searched for his licensed works available... and the addiction didn't stop. Let's just say I developed an Ito fever. No regrets though~

► He's not exactly "mainstream", so how did you discover Junji Ito?

Jo

► He's not exactly "mainstream", so how did you discover Junji Ito?
I was searching through forums and stuff like that for some horror and/or psychological manga. And I see many people recommending Junji Ito's works, especially Uzumaki.

What was your first Ito story?
Basing off from my previous answer, you might thought Uzumaki was my first. But no, Yami no Koe was it! Many people commented that Uzumaki is really great, yet terrifying so I got kinda scared. Then I decided to start off with Yami no Koe to get myself prepared. LOL!
► What is your favorite story?
There's a lot! Uzumaki, Lovesick Dead, Army of One, Songs in the Dark, etc etc.

►  If one of his stories magically came to life, which one would you least like to find yourself in the middle of?
Uzumaki... I mean.. It's almost like there's no way I can get out of it?

Koi

► He's not exactly "mainstream", so how did you discover Junji Ito?
I was in a movie rental place one day (when they still existed) and picked up the Uzumaki movie because it looked just so weird. When I found out that it was based off a manga, I started hunting all his stuff down.

► What is your favorite story?
Uzumaki. So much nostalgia.

►  If one of his stories magically came to life, which one would you least like to find yourself in the middle of?
Probably the Hanging Balloons. That would drive me insane.

►  Why do you like his work so much?
His art style and the type of open-ended, dark endings he writes.

►  Favorite recurring character?
Souichi. Such a little brat~
